Mr. George Albert Dickey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Dickey was born at Tipton, Indiana on Feb 20, 1847. Most of his life was spent in that region.  Early in life he became a member of the Presbyterian Church. About 40 years ago, he was united in marriage with Alice Glover of Waveland, Ind who with the five sons: Harry, Herbert, Charles, Frank and Walter survive him.  Eight years ago, Mr. Dickey came to Ordway where he since resided becoming very favorably known by all who become acquainted with him.  He lived to be 65 years of age and passed from this life at 11:45 o’clock on the morning of Thursday, March 13, a few hours after having been stricken with apoplexy while in the active discharge of duty – stout and strong today – tomorrow turned to clay.  The funeral was held from the Methodist Church at 1:30 p.m. Sunday March 17, 1912, the pastor, Rev. CH Inman having charge and preaching from Prov 27:1` - “Boast not thyself of tomorrow for though knowest not what a day may bring forth. The choir snag Jesus Lover of My Soul and Nearer my God to Thee, Just as I am was sang by the male quartette. The large attendance manifested the esteem in which Mr. Dickey was held by the people of Ordway. Interment here. - kbz
